A meadow, an open arch and a room looking towards the garden introduce Country House Retreat. This Edward George concept imagines an English country escape through collected interiors, softened colour and places to pause. Watch the film, then explore the full sequence of rooms, material details and landscape views that give the project its character.

The garden arcade offers a sheltered seat between house and landscape. Pale arches frame the planting, while a woven chair and small stone table keep the space inviting. It is a modest arrangement, given presence by the depth of the opening and the changing light across the floor.

Clay rose walls, dark timber and oxblood leather establish the drawing room palette. A pale sofa brings lightness to the centre, and the marble fireplace gives the room a clear focal point. Books, ceramics and pictures add interest at a scale that rewards a closer view.

In the kitchen, muted green cabinetry sits beside pale worktops and a terracotta herringbone floor. The dining room takes a richer direction, with deep red walls and patterned curtains framing the garden. The rooms share a sense of warmth while offering distinct settings for the everyday table and a longer evening meal.

The principal bedroom draws its colours from the landscape: green behind the bed, natural linen and warm timber. At the bath, the window gives the countryside a place within the composition. A separate bathing study carries that idea into a landscape mural, pairing a deep red tub with softly coloured walls.

The outdoor sequence moves from a table beneath the trees to the sheltered pool. Gravel, simple timber furniture and generous planting give each place its own texture. The glass covered passage brings that garden character indoors, with foliage, warm brick and a cushioned seat gathered along the view.

The annex interiors continue the house palette through rounded dining furniture, pale upholstery and dark shelving. On the landing, ceramics and pictures give a connecting space a character of its own. These smaller views broaden the story, showing how the direction can hold together beyond the principal rooms.

The wider landscape view places the house among trees, meadow and rolling fields. It gives context to the garden glimpses seen throughout the interiors. For a country retreat concept, that relationship is central: the setting should remain present as the story moves from one room to the next.
